María Corina Machado mentioned facing difficulties in establishing communication with Mexican authorities while collaborating with Brazil and Colombia to address the crisis post-election that favored Nicolás Maduro.
During a virtual press conference, Machado expressed gratitude for the support received in urging Maduro towards an "orderly transition". She emphasized the crucial role played by Brazil and Colombia, neighboring countries to Venezuela directly impacted by the situation.
The governments of Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico maintain neutrality, refraining from officially recognizing a winner in the elections, and call for the presentation of electoral records as part of high-level consultations respecting the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people.
Amid suggestions like forming a coalition government or organizing new elections, María Corina Machado reinforced her respect for popular sovereignty and the necessity of a violence-free transition.
On the other hand, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador dismissed the notion of new elections as an immediate solution to the crisis in Venezuela, choosing to await the resolution from the Venezuelan electoral court.
